Somerset Stairs Get New Look Post Fire Damage

As seen in the Before Photo, this Somerset stairwell had significant smoke residues from fire damage. The signs where water from extinguishing the fire mixed with the smoke and ran down the walls is clearly visible. Fortunately for the homeowner, the sheetrock did not require removal. SERVPRO technicians removed the handrail and carpet on the stair treads to clean up any remaining water and the smoke residues. Once completed, the techs treated the walls with a sealant to inhibit any soot odors from permeating the home again and the homeowner used the opportunity to have the stairwell repainted, new carpet installed and moved the handrail to the opposite wall giving the former fire loss area a fresh, updated look.
