Somerset Loft Gets New Life After Fire Damage

It can be overwhelming to see the first look at a Somerset home post fire damage. This loft had significant charring and smoke damage throughout the floors, walls, and ceilings. SERVPRO technicians removed the damaged building materials and prepped the room for reconstruction. This involves the removal of the floorboards, charred sheetrock, and replacement of the light fixture. Odorous soot particles can leave behind strong odors, so before any rebuilding can take place, odor control treatments need to occur. Thermal fogging is particularly effective on smoke damage as the odor-neutralizing fog behaves like smoke during a fire. As it encounters soot particles, it eradicates them at the molecular level and readies the room for repairs. As seen in the After Photo, there are no signs of the previous fire damage and the loft is now a comfortable room in the home again.
